In the latest annual Onside Sports Star Monitor, it was Ireland’s golfers that collectively achieved strongest year on year growth in terms of the Irish publics’ admiration. While Irish rugby star Brian O’ Driscoll emerged for the second year running as Ireland’s Most Admired Sports Star.
The growth in admiration for Ireland’s golfers is manifested in Padraig Harrington’s admiration showing the greatest lift of any of the top 10 Irish sports stars, to remain in second place overall. In addition to this is the growing admiration evidenced in the research for stars Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell.
